Francisco Rodriguez Dies From Injuries

Francisco Rodriguez, the Chicago-based super bantamweight died this morning in a Philadelphia area hospital, two days after he collapsed following a 10th round TKO loss to Teon Kennedy at the historic Blue Horizon. Rodriguez, was challenging for the vacant USBA super bantamweight title in his seventeenth professional bout, after a successful amateur career. “It’s with a very heavy heart that we make this announcement,” promoter Dominic Pesoli of Chicago-based 8 Count Productions said in a released statement. “Francisco was family to us and we all loved him very much.

Rodriguez leaves his wife and their young daughter. A fund is being set up in his name for the support of his young family.

The entire staff and our families wish to offer our deepest sympathies to the Rodriguez family in this difficult time.
