DICE Looking to Roll Multiplayer Elements Into Battlefield 4’s Single-Player Mode
DICE is looking to bring more multiplayer elements into Battlefield 4. Playstation Magazine reports that EA is hoping to use their Frostbite 3 engine to add more choices to the game’s single-player mode.
DICE general manager Karl-Magnus Troedsson said, “There are signature multiplayer elements that we want to bring into single-player. We want to give the player a choice. Do they want to go for the sneaky approach with a sniper rifle and a silenced pistol, or do they want to take a jeep and have the entire squad shoot at everything they see?”
Troedsson added that the new game is looking to capture the “human element,” saying, “You can get very up close and personal with your characters – that’s what we want to dig deeper into with Battlefield 4. This is one of the biggest places where Frostbite 3 comes into play.”
The game releases on October 29th for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, with next-gen versions coming as well.
