EA Named ‘Worst Company in America’ by The Consumerist

April 5, 2012 | Posted by Adam Larck

In what I still can’t figure out, EA was voted the “Worst Company in America” by The Consumerist.

EA beat out Bank of America in the final round to win the award. Yes, you read that right. Bank of America, which was a primary factor in the housing crisis in America, along with helping cause plenty of other economic woes, is not as bad as EA. Your guess is as good as mine on the reason for that.

EA told Joystiq the following about the award: “We’re sure that bank presidents, oil, tobacco and weapons companies are all relieved they weren’t on the list this year. We’re going to continue making award-winning games and services played by more than 300 million people worldwide.”

The logic behind their victory is still baffling, but at least EA is taking this in stride.
