Expansion Pass Announced For The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Nintendo has released a new trailer that announces they will release an expansion pass for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It will be available for $19.99 when the game launches on March 3. This is the first time an expansion pass has been available for the main series. It will be available for both the Nintendo Switch and the Wii U.
It will allow players to access two sets of DLC when they are available later this year. The first DLC pack arrives this summer and includes the Cave of Trials challenge, a new hard mode and a new feature for the game’s map. The second pack arrives in Holiday 2017, which will feature new challenges, a new dungeon and a new original story. Content packs will not be available for individual purchase.
If you pre-order the pass, three new treasure chests will appear in the Great Plateau area. One will have a shirt with a Nintendo Switch logo that Link can wear (exclusive to the pass). The other two will have useful items.
Nintendo developer Eiji Aonuma said: “The world of Hyrule, which we created for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, is so large and vibrant that we wanted to offer more for players to experience within it. With this new Expansion Pass, we hope that fans will play, explore and enjoy the game even more.”
Here’s a synopsis: In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, more than 100 Shrines of Trials dot the landscape, waiting for players to discover and explore them in any order they want. As players work their way through the traps and puzzles inside, they’ll earn special items and other rewards that will help them on their adventure. Puzzles in the game often have multiple answers, and secrets can be found everywhere. Exploration and discovery are a huge part of the fun.
