Players Of Star Wars: The Old Republic Pay Tribute To Carrie Fisher
Kotaku reports that players of the BioWare MMORPG Star Wars: the Old Republic have held gatherings in the area House Organa on the planet Alderaan to pay tribute to Carrie Fisher. Fans have requested that BioWare add a tribute, even though the game is set thousands of years before Fisher’s character of Leia Organa was born. Others have also made videos to show their respect.
Meanwhile, in Battlefront, players have asked development studio DICE to release a new, older version of Princess Leia to honor Fisher. The game already features Leia, but as she appeared in the original trilogy. On most of the maps, she wears the outfit she wore on Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back. Last summer, DICE suggested they were working on an alternate skin based on her white outfit from the original film, but plans were called off. Unfortunately, the request is in the middle of a series of complaints about the lack of content for the game.
One request stated: “This would be a nice way for DICE to show their love for Carrie and support our community as we mourn our loss.”
Another, less kind player added: “She deserves a game without bugs and absolutely enjoyable and playable.”
