[PODCAST] 5e D&D Actual Play – Eberron: Heirs of Destiny

July 7, 2017 | Posted by John Bates

Welcome back, folks, to another episode of our D&D Fifth Edition Actual Play podcast Eberron: Heirs of Destiny! Jeremy Thomas again, your DM and 411 site editor, bringing you the latest in adventures in Keith Baker’s world of Eberron.

Leading up to this point, our party had taken up a job for their patron, Lady Elaydren d’Vown of House Cannith, to retrieve further pieces of a schema from ancient Cannith facilities that they had recently uncovered the existence. At the same time, they have found themselves caught up in some sort of conspiracy involving Draconic Prophecy, in which a group of cultists from the Order of the Emerald Claw were trying to bring something to pass that involved Seth’s mysterious Dragonmark and little bits of history here and there from the rest of the group. The hunt for the schema piece led them down into an underground compound in what is now known as the Toorlac Moor in the hobgoblin nation of Darguun. Having ventured through and most recently defeating an undead creature that came out of an ever-burning forge, they moved ahead and found themselves in a large room that contained a pool of water and, on the far side of the room, a large iron vault. While Kira was investigating the runes around the pool, Seth opened up the vault and found a few items that included the schema and a wand that appeared to be made out of bone with a blackish purple crystal on one end. Picking up the wand, he found some of his life force sucked into it and the wand spoke to him, naming itself a destroyer of undead named Batrax.

And that is where we pick back up. This week the party finds itself investigating that strange pool and dealing with an unexpected circumstance. What does the elven island of Aerenal have to do with this Cannith facility? Listen on and find out…
