Sony Vice President Fuels Rumors of the PlayStation 4
The Chilean website Emol spoke with Sony vice president Hiroshi Sakamoto, and eh has fueled rumors that the PS4 will be released later this year.
Sakamoto suggested that Sony could be unveiling the new system in May or at E3 2013 this summer. Sakamoto stated, “That’s still a big secret, but our friends are preparing Sony PlayStation. I can only say that we are focused on the E3 gaming event, scheduled for June. [An] announcement may be [made] in that minute or even earlier in May.”
PS4 is said to be rumored in development under the codename of Orbis and will reportedly feature an AMD A8-3850 chip with a quad-core 2.9GHz processor and a 1GHz graphics card with 1GB of dedicated memory. It’s also believed to be capable of displaying games in 4K resolution, support Blu-ray and also ship at an “affordable” price.
Sony has yet to confirm official plans for the new console hardware.
