Alessandro Ricci spoke with MMAjunkie about his fight with Jeremy Kennedy at UFC on FOX 21. Ricci took the fight with just a week’s notice. Some highlights are below:

On taking the short notice fight: “I’m always ready. I train full-time, all year round, and I was actually getting ready for Vale-Tudo Japan on Sept. 19. I was just preparing for that fight, and this popped up. We just jumped up on it, and we’re always ready to go. Mentally, physically, spiritually, I’m in such a great spot right now. This is something that I’ve been preparing for a long time and – you know, I have a lot of experience. I’ve been in this fight game for the last 20 years, and I’ve been in these situations before. I take it as it comes. This is a big roller-coaster ride, I’ve had a lot of ups and downs, and, you know, I’m just so grateful to be here.”

On what to expect in his UFC debut: “They’re going to see a complete fighter. I love to entertain. I love to keep the fans on the edge of their seats. That’s what this business is all about. But, more importantly, I’m just here to showcase my skills and to show the world what I’m all about.”
