Anderson Silva is threatening to retire if he doesn’t get an interim title fight against Yoel Romero at UFC 212. Silva, who was originally set to face Kelvin Gastelum before the latter was pulled due to a positive test for a marijuana metabolite, told the MMA Hour (via MMAjunkie that he doesn’t see a reason to keep fighting if he doesn’t get the bout with Romero.

“I’m tired,” Silva said. “Trust me, I’m so tired. I just talked to my team today, and I talked to my friends and my family. I’m tired. If nothing happens, if this fight doesn’t happen anymore in Brazil, I’m done. I won’t fight more. I’m done.”

He added that his career as a whole should be enough to get him the fight, noting, “I’m very disappointed. The guys don’t respect my legacy, don’t respect my story in the sport. I don’t know. I’m done.”

Silva is still currently listed on the card agains an as-yet-undetermined opponent. Romero has expressed an interest in fighting Silva if an interim title is on the line while they wait for the winner of Michael Bisping vs. Georges St-Pierre, but Dana White has said he doesn’t see the need for the interim title.
