Anthony Pettis Promises to Give Fans the Performance They Deserve at UFC on FOX 21

Ahead of UFC on FOX 21, former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis shared a lengthy post on his Facebook account on his upcoming fight set for tonight’s card against Charles Oliveira. Pettis makes his UFC featherweight debut for the bout, which arguably must win for him. Despite one of the losses being a title bout, Pettis has gone 0-3 in his last three bouts in the Octagon. Arguably, Pettis going 0-4 tonight is not a position he will want to be in. You can read Pettis’ full Facebook post as well as an excerpt below:

“What I want for everyone to know is that when I step into the Octagon tomorrow night, you will see the Anthony Pettis you deserve,” he wrote on Friday night. The one you’ve supported with your posted messages and those personally delivered to me. You’ll see the Anthony Pettis I have always strived to be. What you need to understand is that those of us who’ve done this for years – the ones who have trained for hours on end and have sacrificed our bodies, spirits, and valuable time with our families – are entering our fights with a desire to confront all doubt and criticism. But, most importantly we need to prove our successes to ourselves and that we are the best at practicing what some may call a sport, but what we call our lives.”

UFC on FOX 21 is set for tonight at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia. The main card will be broadcast live on FOX. Prelims will be shown on FOX and UFC Fight Pass.
