Bellator 81 Fighter Marcin Held Would Like a Rematch With Michael Chandler

November 14, 2012 | Posted by Jeffrey Harris

MMAjunkie spoke with Bellator lightweight fighter and tournament semifinalist Marcin Held who faces Rich Clementi at Bellator 81. Here’s what he had to say about his upcoming fight.

His hopes for a rematch with Bellator champion Michael Chandler: “I am definitely hoping that Michael Chandler still has the title after this tournament so I can get a rematch against him in the biggest fight of my life. I know I am ready for him now.”

Why he thinks a rematch would go differently: “My loss to Michael Chandler was my first fight in Bellator, and my nerves really got the best of me. Fighting in the United States for the first time on television definitely played a huge factor in that fight for me. With that being said, Michael was just plain better than me that night. I just wasn’t ready for him then – but now I am.”

His thoughts on Rich Clementi: “He is solid in every aspect of the fight game and he always executes his strategy in the cage. However, I don’t think he’s the most dangerous fighter I’ve ever fought. I think Michael Chandler was the most dangerous opponent I have fought so far in my career – and he still is…Clementi is a very good opponent for me because he is a very well-rounded fighter. It will be a good experience for me to meet him in the cage. He’s the exact type of challenge I need to face at this point in my career.”
