Brad Pickett Says He’s In A Do Or Die Situation

February 25, 2016 | Posted by Joseph Lee

In an interview with MMA Junkie, Brad Pickett (24-1 MMA, 4-6 UFC) said that he’s in a do-or-die situation with his fight against Francisco Rivera (11-5 MMA, 4-3 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 84 this Saturday. The event streams on UFC Fight Pass from the O2 in London. Here are highlights:

On his loss to Thomas Almeida: “It’s hard. It’s like sometimes it’s hard to be winning a fight and then end up losing a fight. It’s like a kick in the balls. It’s a tough pill to swallow. Obviously, though, I do take credit out of that fight. I was fighting well up until that point. Obviously, I think this weight class is better for me. I think I throw harder, and people stand there with me.”

On needing a win: “This one, I have a bit more riding on it. It doesn’t matter who my opponent is. I could be fighting the best guy in the world or some guy off the street, and I’d have a lot pressure in this fight. I need to get back in the win column. It’s a do-or-die situation for me.”
