Charles Rosa Doesn’t Think Augusto Mendes Was Really Injured

January 15, 2016 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

Charles Rosa spoke with MMAjunkie about his fight with Kyle Bochniak at UFC Fight Night 81, losing his two previous opponents on the card due to injury and more. Check out the highlights:

On losing two previous fights on the card due to injury:“My first fight, Jimy Hettes, got injured, had a knee injury. The second guy? Augusto Mendes, I think he signed the contract, thought twice about it, and didn’t want to do it. I would love that fight. I feel like you accept something and then you turn it down, you give then you take it back – I only spent a full day prepping for him, but he took one of my days away, and I want it back.”

On his 1-2 UFC record: “It’s not the record I want, but I feel like I’ve gone out there and performed every time; every fight I go out there and look for the kill. I have that gladiator state of mind. I get in the cage, and I go for the kill every time – 100 percent peddle to the metal. Some of my coaches get mad at me sometimes, but that’s not how I fight. I fight to finish.”
