Globo (via MMA Junkie) reports that Claudia Gadelha (13-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) has suffered a torn ligament in her middle finger and now her status for UFC 195 is up in the air. She is scheduled to face women’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk (10-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) at the event, which happens on January 2, 2016. The card previously had a fight between Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm, but that one was moved up to UFC 193.

Jedrzejczyk previously beat Gadelha at UFC on FOX 13 by split decision. Gadelha got another shot by beating Jessica Aguilar at UFC 190. Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports reported that the UFC tried to set a fight between Jedrzejczyk and Valerie Letourneau (8-3 MMA, 3-0 UFC) for UFC 193 to co-main event but Letourneau wouldn’t be ready in time. He wrote on Twitter that not be ready in time for the bout. Iole said on Twitter that Gadelha was injured and that’s why Letourneau is being considered. She’s on a four fight winning streak, most recently beating Maryna Moroz by unanimous decision at UFC 190.

A UFC official said: “We are currently reviewing options for Joanna’s next defense. Valerie has been discussed if Claudia cannot compete due to injury.
