Dana White Claims Misha Cirkunov Flaked Out on a New UFC Deal

The UFC had recently pulled light heavyweight prospect and former UFC fighter, Misha Cirkunov, from its rankings and roster. Cirkunov had just pulled off a big win recently, submitting Nikita Krylov at UFC 206. However, speaking to TSN, UFC President Dana White revealed that Cirkunov will not be fighting again in the UFC in the near future after “flaking out” on a new contract.

White stated on Cirkunov, “I met with Misha and his wife, and good people and everything else, but he ended up really flaking out on the deal. So I’m not interested. I’m done. He knows I’m done. I made it very clear I’m done.” White added, “You’ll see him somewhere. It just won’t be here.”

Cirkunov currently boasts a 13-2 record, and he went 4-0 in the UFC. All his wins in the UFC were by way of finish. Considering Cirkunov’s last opponent in Krylov is still in the top 10 of the UFC Light Heavyweight Rankings, he would’ve been poised to break into the upper-echelon of contenders for his next fight. Unfortunately, when the UFC light heavyweight division is in dire need of prospects such as Cirkunov, that no longer appears to be case.
