– Dana White appeared on SportsCenter today (via mmajunkie.com) to discuss booking Alvarez vs. McGregor for UFC 205. Here are the highlights…

On Booking Alvarez vs. McGregor For UFC 205: “After the Nate Diaz fight, he injured his foot,” White said of McGregor. “The doctor said there’s no real damage there, it’s an old injury but you need to stay off your foot for a few weeks. Conor and I were going back and forth about the foot. I said, ‘Listen, you’re not a doctor.’ He told me, ‘I know my body better than you do.’ I’ll give him that one. He wants to fight. It’s the reason we all love Conor McGregor. So, this fight’s coming up and he wants to try to gain both belts and he will give up one of the titles after that fight in New York.”

On What Belt Conor Would Vacate if He Won: “(Which belt he would vacate) is a good question,” White said. “That’s what we’ll figure out. He’s got some stuff going on right now. Some personal stuff I’m sure he’ll announce when he’s ready. You know, this fight made sense.”

On Khabib Nurmagomedov Not Getting The Title Shot: “I’m also working right now – Khabib was also supposed to get a title shot at 155 pounds,” White said. “He called and said, ‘Alright, I get it. Conor is getting this fight. Put me in New York, too.’ He wants to fight Michael Johnson.”
