Dana White Says Mayweather vs. McGregor Is a ‘Global Fight’

July 16, 2017 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

Dana White spoke with MMAjunkie about the promotional tour for Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor. The highlights are below:

On the back and forth between Mayweather and McGregor: “What’s going on here is as much of a fight as the fight itself. Mayweather has yet to meet his match physically, or verbally, in these type of situations – until now. These guys are two of the best to ever do it. To say you cross a line leading up to a fight? They’re going to try to knock each other unconscious in about a month and a half. So, I don’t know if you can actually cross a line in this business.”

On the potential for the fight: “Obviously it’s already a very huge fight. It’s a global fight. The world cares about this fight. Vegas had this thing at 4.9 million buys (on the) over-under. Tickets go on sale (July) 24. Once tickets go on sale, that’s when this thing will really start tracking and we’ll have an idea of what the numbers look like.”
