December 10, 2016 | Posted by Jeffrey Harris

Speaking to reporters in a post-fight media scrum after UFC Fight Night 102 (via MMAjunkie), UFC heavyweight fighter Derrick Lewis discussed his main event victory over Shamil Abdurakhimov. Lewis rallied back after losing some of the earlier rounds and ultimately earned a fourth-round TKO victory. Despite the win, Lewis was not happy with his overall performance. Below are some highlights from the scrum.

Lewis on why the fight set him back: “It set me back. I don’t like the performance I did. Fighting like that, I don’t believe I deserve a top-five guy. … This fight here messed my parade up.”

Lewis on his head not being in the fight: “My head wasn’t really in it at all. It was just a lot of confusion. I’ve got a lot of stuff going on at home and stuff like that.”

Lewis on what’s next for him: “I’m going to back to the hotel room and have a glass of wine and see where my head is at after that. Wine and cheese.”
