Derrick Lewis Comments On Referee’s Hesitance To Stop Fight With Travis Browne

February 20, 2017 | Posted by Joseph Lee

In an interview with MMA Junkie, Derrick Lewis (18-4 MMA, 9-2 UFC) said he was glad that referee Mario Yamasaki seemed hesitant to stop his fight against Travis Browne (18-6-1 MMA, 9-6-1 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 105. He also brought up a 2015 allegation of domestic violence against Browne from an ex-girlfriend. At the time, the UFC ended its investigation due to “inconclusive evidence.”

Lewis said: “I appreciate it. Where he at? I’ll give him $1,000. I appreciate it for letting the fight go a little longer than it would, because I just want to get all my anger out on Travis’ face anyway, because he likes to hit on women. So I appreciate him for doing that.
