Derrick Lewis Wants to Fight a Ranked Opponent Next

Speaking to reporters in a media scrum (via MMAjunkie) after UFC Fight Night 82, UFC heavyweight fighter Derrick Lewis discussed his first round knockout win over Damian Grabowski. Below are some highlights.

Lewis joking that he can fight Conor McGregor: “Hopefully I can get on the McGregor card. If his opponent backs out, I want to fight McGregor. I’ll set my doctor’s appointment up next week and get my arm or something cut off a little bit. Then I’ll be down to 250 (pounds). So, maybe work on my diet, and I’ll get close.”

Lewis on who he wants to fight next: “Whoever the (No. 14), 15 guy is – or even the 16 guy – I just want to be that next step closer to the title.”
