Fabio Maldonado Out Three Months After Graphic Home Accident

Fabio Maldonado is on the shelf for the next few months after slicing his artery in a home accident. The fighter posted pics to his Instagram account in which he revealed that he will be out after slipping on the stairs at his home and fell over a glass door. Maldonado told MMA Fighting, “I cut an artery and underwent a quick surgery. I’ll get it checked again in a week. I can’t (train or fight) for three months.”

Maldonado has been fighting for Eurasia Fight Nights since being released from the UFC in 2015. He broke a four-fight losing streak at EFN 60 with a first-round TKO over Abdul Khamid Davlyatov in March.
