- During today’s UFC Conference Call with Minotauro Nogueira & Fabricio Werdum, Werdum discussed fighting Nogueira and the surprise when he got the coaching spot on the Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 2. Here are the highlights…

On Getting The TUF 2: Brazil Job: “I didn’t think I was as known in Brazil as Nogueira and Shogun and Lyoto. I really didn’t believe that it was going to happen. But my coach reached out to Joe Silva asking about my next fight, and Joe did say it was a possibility.”

On Offering to go Back to Strikeforce to Fight Cormier: “It was a fight that was never offered. I went to the media and said that I would step up and save the event and go back to Strikeforce, but it was never offered.”

On His Rematch With Nogueira: “After seven years, I think I’ve evolved a lot in my game. Back then I was pretty much a jiu-jitsu fighter. I’ve worked a lot on my standup, and Nogueira has evolved a lot too. It’s just a great honor, and my biggest goal is to fight for the title. I have to win this fight in order to get that.”
