Felice Herrig Runs The American Ninja Warrior Course

June 24, 2016 | Posted by Larry Csonka

– Felice Herrig appeared for the second time on NBC’s American Ninja Warrior. Last year she went out on the first obstacle, and vowed to do better this year. She did do better, making it to the third obstacle (the same as many of the very popular warriors like Lance Pekus and Kacy Catanzaro), but her run was not shown on TV. Herrig posted the following on Facebook, noting her frustrations with the show…

Sigh… Well I’m proud that I made myself run on this seasons American Ninja Warrior to redeem my run from last year, but I am angry that they mislead me and asked me to promote that I was running. They also asked me to rearrange my schedule to go to the Oklahoma qualifier when I told them I couldn’t make it to the Indianapolis Qualifier. I told them I had a fight scheduled and a training camp that was beginning and I was probably going to pass on running it all together this year. They called my manager repeatedly to ask me to come out and run so I told myself to just do it so I could put my first seasons run behind me… I told them If I could be in and out quickly I would come run, and they agreed.

I trained hard for ANW and promoted the show constantly. I wanted to prove to myself I could do better than my first year and also shut the haters up that trolled me after my first season (where I rushed and fell early). I was nervous and the build up to running the course again sparked some old demons of anxiety but I was able to control it, and I ran. My manager was super proud of me for how far I got… I feel I did ok on it, but I always feel I can do better… I didnt finish the course but I got as far as a lot of the “professional ninja’s” like Kacy Catanzaro and “the Cowboy Ninja” Lance Pekus. It’s one of those things that you feel like you can always do better but you only get one shot… I guess that is why people keep going back. Also a few competitors before my run there was a guy that fell and broke his femur on the rolling logs which freaked me and my manager out because I had a fight scheduled. We saw so many people fall badly there and with a fight coming up I didnt want to get hurt so I didnt attack that obstacle whole heartedly… I was happy with my run and felt I showed I could compete.

I am really embarrassed that I promoted the show so much and feel used by the ANW production team and NBC because they kept asking me to promote and even went as far as sending me graphics to post on my social media to promote my run. I’m sorry to the fans that support me that it didn’t air… to the haters, I guess you have something else to make fun of. I’m angry at the time wasted on ANW and embarrassed they put me in this position. I can’t waste anymore time on it as I have a fight to focus on. ‪#‎UFCchicago‬ ‪#‎July23
