Georges St-Pierre, Bjorn Rebney And More To Make Huge Announcement

MMA Fighting reports that a huge announcement is set to happen this week, including Georges St-Pierre, Bjorn Rebney and other “well-known fighters.” The announcement is said to be an “industry re-defining” one and will happen tomorrow at 4 PM ET during a media conference call. Other names listed in the release include Cain Velasquez, T.J. Dillashaw, Donald Cerrone and Tim Kennedy.

O’Malley Hansen Communications representative David Viggiano declined to reveal any details, mentioning that all will be withheld until tomorrow. St-Pierre, Velasquez, Dillashaw and Kennedy are represented by Creative Artists Agency (CAA), the talent agency rival to UFC owner WME-IMG.

It’s possible that the announcement could be a union. Kennedy and Cerrone have said that fighters need one in the past. This will be Rebney’s first public announcement of any kind since he was released by Bellator MMA’s parent company Viacom in June 2014.
