Georgi Karakhanyan spoke with MMAjunkie about his fight with Pat Curran at Bellator 155. Some highlights are below:

On his goal for the fight: “I know he’s never been finished, so I’m looking to finish Pat Curran. When I step in there, I’m going to be at my best and do my best. And I’m going to do everything to get that victory. I’m expecting to face the best Pat Curran there is. He was a world champion, he’s fought a lot of good names. And I think when you fight guys like him, when you can expect danger at any second, that brings the best out of me.”

On his attitude: “I’m going in there hungry. And this is a new year, I want to start it with victories and just prove something. I know Bellator started doing kickboxing. And for me to join that kickboxing league, I need to put a kickboxing performance on Pat Curran.”

On his loss to Daniel Weichel: “I wasn’t ready physically; I was doing it for the money. What matters is that I’ll step inside that cage being 100 percent. I feel it’s going to be a different Georgi. You can’t sleep on me. Even if I’m in a bad position, you better watch out. I might put you in a submission or I might knock you out. That’s the good thing to have under my arsenal, to look for a finish no matter where I’m at, what position I’m at. If I’m up a round, or down a round. I’m always looking to go out there and put an exciting show.”
