Guilherme Viana spoke with MMAjunkie about his fight with Philipe Lins at Bellator 159 and more. Some highlights are below:

On his fight with Houston Alexander: “Whenever I hit Houston Alexander, it felt like I was hitting a concrete wall…I was in such a rush to get my first Bellator win, I created some distance and started striking him on the hard part of his head. That’s when I hurt my right hand. So after that, I had to be more careful and use the left hand more. I didn’t end up breaking my right hand, but it was pretty hurt.”

On Lins: “He’s a great fighter. He’s practically undefeated. I don’t even count his single loss since he ended up hurting his knee. He has good jiu-jitsu with good submissions. He also has good boxing with quick hands. He’s a complete MMA fighter…All the time away he had after the injury, I’m not expecting it to be a factor during the fight at all. I’m going to train as if I was going to face the champion. That’s how I always prepare. I never underestimate anyone, especially someone with such a great record.”

On his title aspirations: “Without a doubt, I’d like to fight as frequently as possible so I can get closer to the belt. My focus and objective is to be Bellator’s world champion. I’ll beat whoever they put in front of me. Hopefully one day I’ll be able to put the Bellator belt around my waist. Once that day arrives, it will be hard to take my belt away.”
