As previously reported, UFC fighter Cris “Cyborg” Justino announced in a YouTube video that she is vacating her Invicta FC featherweight title. As a result, Invicta FC has promoted the interim featherweight champion, Megan Anderson, to the role of undisputed featherweight champion.

Anderson previously won the interim title last January at Invicta FC 21 with her knockout win over Charmaine Tweet. During last night’s Invicta FC 22 event, Invicta FC declared that Anderson was now officially the undisputed champion now that Cyborg has vacated the belt. During the show, Anderson stated, “I’m definitely excited. I think it needed to happen when Cris moved to the UFC, but I’m glad that it’s happened now and it’s all cleared up.”

Justino won the Invicta FC featherweight title in 2013 and last defended the belt in January 2016. However, since that time she’s joined the UFC roster, and the UFC also started its own women’s featherweight division. Justino is now looking to fight reigning featherweight champion Germaine de Randamie for the title in the UFC later this year.
