Jim Miller Not Satisfied With His Recent Performances

December 29, 2012 | Posted by Jeffrey Harris

MMAjunkie spoke with UFC lightweight fighter Jim Miller about his UFC 155 co-main event fight with Joe Lauzon tonight on PPV:

On his dissatisfaction with recent performances: “I haven’t been satisfied with the way I’ve performed in the last couple of fights, and unfortunately, as you move up on the card, it takes longer to get a fight. So it’s like a year-and-a-half, two years since I’ve been satisfied with a performance. That’s the biggest thing coming into Saturday night…I want to go out there and have a fight where I know I did everything I was capable of.”

Regarding his decision to accept a fight with Joe Lauzon over the holidays with only several weeks’ notice: “It was not difficult at all. It was right away. I really enjoy fighting, and it’s basically been eight months since I’ve fought. That’s the longest layoff of my career, and I’m just excited to have that opportunity to get back in the cage. I’m used to fighting every three months, so I’m just wired.”

His thoughts on how he wants the fight to go: “If I’m satisfied, then the vast majority of people are going to be satisfied. Just going out and having fun and using all the tools in the toolbox. That’s one of the biggest and hardest things about fighting. When that door closes behind you, doing everything you’re capable of. A Jon Jones and an Anderson Silva – they play in there and they do everything they can do. That’s what separates them. That’s what I’m trying to do.”
