Josh Clark spoke with MMAjunkie ahead of his fight with Trevin Giles at RFA 1 tonight. Some highlights are below:

On his work as a personal trainer: “Robert Follis walked up to me last night, and I was eating my recovery meal. He said, ‘That’s good, now cut the (expletive). You’re walking around here begging for a fight – don’t be training anybody any more. Let’s get this fight, and let’s take care of business.’”

On sparring with Uriah Hall: “I remember my first day with little gloves sparring with Uriah> I walk out with a black eye and busted nose.”

On improving his skills: “Most guys at 30 and 31, they may start declining. But ever since I’ve been here, I’ve gotten better and better. The only thing that’s hindering me now is having to grind so much.”

On Giles: “I’ve seen enough (footage); I’ve seen about two minutes. I know he can’t punch coming forward, he doesn’t have his feet under him, I’m going to make him pay, I’m going to make him miss, and I’m not going to be there. He’s going to pay for every shot he misses.”

On his goal: “I’m going to get that RFA belt, defend it one time, and then I’m going to be in the UFC by 2017.”
