Josh Thomson Appealing Knockout Loss to Patricky Freire From Bellator 172

Josh Thomson is appealing his loss to Patricky Freire at Bellator 172. MMA Fighting reports that Thomson has filed an appeal of his loss to Freire due to a headbutt that was involved in the events leading up to the finish. Thompson had been hit with an incidental headbutt before he was eventually knocked out vy an uppercut.

Thompson told the site that he filed the appeal a week after the fight but didn’t want to comment on it until after a decision was made “to respect the CSAC appeal process.” The case is likely to be brought in front of the commission at the CSAC’s next meeting on May 16th in Costa Mesa.
