Justin Gaethje Reportedly Heading to UFC
Justin Gaethje is said to be heading to the UFC. MMAjunkie reports that Gaethje is being allowed to leave WSOF and jump to the UFC as the WSOF rebrands itself as the Professional Fighters League and focuses on recruiting new talent.
An official for the UFC told the site that Gaethje is not under contract, but confirmed that negotiations are currently ongoing.
A UFC official said Gaethje is not under contract just yet but confirmed negotiations are ongoing. A spokesperson for the Professional Fighters League said in a statement, “Professional Fighters League will miss Justin, but the thrill, drama, excitement of the regular season, playoffs and championship is about more than one fighter – and the glory of finding a true champion, and rewarding that champion with $1 million is what we’re really excited about.”
WSOF president Ray Sefo also took to Twitter to wish Gaethje good luck, posting:
Recruiting for the 2018 @ProFightLeague has started! Overwhelmed by the interest and enthusiasm #ProFightLeague
