Lorenz Larkin Had No Problem With Taking Short-Notice Fight at UFC 202

August 24, 2016 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

Lorenz Larkin spoke with MMAjunkie about his win over Neil Magny at UFC 202 and more. Some highlights are below:

On the short-notice fight: “You know, after fights, I’m always right back in the gym. I’m sure if I was out of shape and off the couch, I wouldn’t even take a short-notice fight just because I’m not in shape. But I was already halfway in shape. Not in fight shape, but I was in gym shape if that makes sense. I just had a quick mock camp and I was good to go.”

On his comments about “people who don’t know who he is” after the win: “You know, it’s surprising. Fighters I’m just now meeting will talk to me about fights I’ve been in. They know who I am. I look at social media, I’m on social media and always paying attention to things that come out. I look at people’s comments and always see like, ‘Who is this guy? What weight class is he? Who has he fought?’ I’m like, ‘These MFers.”

on his free agency talks: “I just told them, everything is going to be communicated through text. I do not want to talk. We haven’t talked to them yet. I haven’t talked to UFC since the fight. I’m just kind of anxious to see how everything plays out and how this free agency thing goes.”
