Luis Henrique da Silva spoke with MMAjunkie about his fight with Joachim Christensen at UFC Fight Night 96 and more. The highlights are below:

On winning his debut at UFC 199: “My UFC debut was pretty difficult in regards to having to deal with so many medical and travel visa appointments. It was crazy. Thankfully it worked out. And the emotions – they were different than anything I could imagine. I thought I was going to remain calm. When the time came, my heart was racing. I was pretty nervous. But I felt better after I started fighting. And once I got the victory, it was pure happiness. It was an indescribable feeling. It was so cool. To remain undefeated, and win by knockout, it was really great for me and my team.”

On being more relaxed for his fight this weekend: “I feel the stress is behind me now. I’ve had a lot of talks with my team about that. It’s behind me now. I’m no longer a sailor on his first voyage. Nothing else can surprise me, now that I’m familiar with the magnitude of the event. Now I have a new battle ahead. I’m confident that people will see me fight in a completely different way. It will be a great fight.”

On Christensen: “From studying him, I can see he’s a complete fighter and very athletic. He can strike, wrestle and submit. I think ours will be a very interesting fight. I’ll look for a knockout, no doubt. If we hit the mat, I have sufficient technique to defeat him there. But if we’re standing, which is my turf, I’ll knock him out. It will be awesome. He’s athletic and versatile, but I’ll be looking for another KO.”
