Magnus Cedenblad Embarrassed By Past Performances

May 5, 2016 | Posted by Joseph Lee

In an interview with MMA Junkie, Magnus Cedenblad (13-4 MMA, 3-1 UFC) said he was embarrassed by his past performances in the UFC. His next fight is against Garreth McLellan (13-3 MMA, 11 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 87. The show happens this Sunday on FOX Sports 1 from the Ahoy Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Here are highlights:

On his past performances: “I’m embarrassed about my previous fights, all of them. I think I looked terrible in them. When people say, ‘Oh you fight in the UFC? Can I watch your fight?’ I say, ‘No, it’s not possible. You can’t watch them.’ Because I don’t want people to see them. When I see them I’m ashamed of myself.”

On how this fight will be different: “This time I’m really going to show what I’m capable of. I think I’ve performed at like 50 percent. It’s disgusting the way I’ve been fighting. So this time, this is like make it or break it. I’m better than (McLellan) in every aspect of the game. I don’t see he has anything on me, but if I don’t get it to work, (expletive), it’s just boring the way I’ve been fighting. So on Sunday I’m really going to put on that extra level and show what I’m capable of.”

On his approach to the fight: “I can win this fight at 50 percent doing the way I’ve been fighting, but that’s never going to take me to the top. I’m never going to defeat Chris Weidman or Luke Rockhold by the way I was fighting. Now it’s time to change that and how I’m capable of fighting.”
