January 13, 2017 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

UFC alum Martin Svensson has announced his retirement from MMA. Svensson, who competed in The Ultimate Fighter 22 and last fought at Cage Warriors 79, announced that he was walking away on Facebook:

The message reads in English, “Now I’ve decided to stop competing in MMA. I’ve had eight good years in sport, and I’m very happy with these eight years. These days can’t take the body of that head wish and it feels like a balanced decision to stop on my own terms. I’ll be put to practice but the focus will be on bjj and grappling.”

Svensson retires with a 15 – 6 profesional record with nine submissions.
