Matt Mitrione Replaces Shane Carwin, Will Fight Roy Nelson
After Shane Carwin blew out his knee in training and was forced to withdraw from his fight with Roy Nelson on December 15, the UFC has announced his replacement will be Matt Mitrione according to MMAJunkie.com.
Mitrione was scheduled to fight Philip De Fries at UFC 155 on December 29 but he will now receive a new opponent while Matt moves to fight Big Country.
Despite starting his MMA career with a 5-0 record, Mitrione lost for the first time at UFC 137 last October thanks to a unanimous decision against Cheick Kongo. Roy Nelson was last seen in the octagon in May when he knocked out Dave Herman in just 51-seconds at UFC 146.
