Neil Magny Vs Jon Manley Official For UFC 157

MMA Junkie reports that UFC has confirmed that welterweights and The Ultimate Fighter 16 finalists Neil Magny (7-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) and Jon Manley (7-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) will meet at UFC 157. The event takes place on February 23 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The main card airs on PPV after preliminary fights on FX and Facebook. Magny vs Manley is likely to be on the preliminary card.

Magny won his spot on the Ultimate Fighter house by defeating Frank Camacho by unanimous decision. He was coach Shane Carwin’s fourth overall pick. He was placed against Team Nelson’s Cameron Diffley and won via unanimous decision with a 20-18 sweep. In the quarterfinals, he faced Bristol Marunde and own via unanimous decision. He then lost to show runner-up Mike Ricci in the semifinals with a first round knockout.

Before The Ultimate Fighter, Magny had four stoppages in seven wins, including one over Kevin Nowaczyk (one of the 32 fighters trying to get onto this season’s show). Magny has since been working with the team at Grudge Training Center near Denver.

Meanwhile, Manley won his way onto the show with a win over Ricky Legere Jr via unanimous decision. He was Roy Nelson’s fifth overall pick. In the first round of his fight with James Chaney, he won with a guillotine choke. He then lost in the semifinals by unanimous decision by show winner Colton Smith. Manely trains with Gabriel Gonzaga and Ricardo Funch. He has a two-fight win streak for 2011 and didn’t fight in 2010. His only fights in 2012 were Ultimate Fighter exhibition fights.
