Ovince Saint Preux Discusses His Recent Losing Streak Ahead of UFC Fight Night 108

April 22, 2017 | Posted by Jeffrey Harris

Ovince Saint Preux recently spoke to reporters in a media scrum ahead of his fight at Marcos Rogerio de Lima at UFC Fight Night 108 (via MMAjunkie). Below are some highlights.

Saint Preux on his recent loss: “If you think about it, the UFC has the elite (fighters) of every division. Everybody they bring in isn’t going to be a slouch.”

Saint Preux on getting complacent: “I tell a lot of people when you get into the top 15, you can still train somewhat mediocre and get away with a lot of stuff. But when you get into the top 5, that training style can’t be mediocre. It has to be a lifestyle, and I think that’s the biggest thing I realized.”

His thoughts on De Lima: “I definitely know he’s an aggressive striker, which is good for me. I can get aggressive when I need to be. … When it comes down to me biting down on my mouthpiece, I can do that. And usually when I do that, it’s usually trouble for the other guy.”

Saint Preux on wanting to have fun with his next fight: “I’m just going to be out there smiling and having fun. As long as I’m going out there with a big smile across my face, more than likely, that means I’m really, really relaxed. And that means it’s really, really bad for the other guy.”
