Ovince Saint Preux Isn’t Selling Cavalcante’s Wrestling Short

February 5, 2016 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

Ovince Saint Preux spoke with MMAjunkie about his fight with Rafael Cavalcante at UFC Fight Night 82. Chekc out the highlights:

On his size advantage: “It’s kind of funny. I compare myself to a lot of guys, but I just don’t realize how much bigger I am than these other guys. It’s going to be good. I’m definitely going to have the size advantage. So, I think I’m not going to worry about that part. But, on Saturday night, it doesn’t mean anything. It’s just what you can do inside the octagon.”

On Cavalcante: “A lot of people say his weak part is wrestling, but if you ever watch his fights, he’ll get taken down and come right back up. But, if I do want to apply my wrestling game, I have to make sure I don’t let him back up. He’s really good at getting back up. But also, his muay Thai is pretty good. You just have to watch out for his unorthodox stuff. He likes doing spinning back kicks, spinning heel kicks, spinning backfists and stuff. He likes throwing overhand rights. I’ve just got to make sure I take the center of the octagon. His ground game, I have to watch out for that because he’s a BJJ black belt. He is pretty dangerous on the ground. But I think I’m a well-rounded mixed martial artist. This time around I’m trying to concentrate more on my technique. My strength makes my technique better. But I’m concentrating more on that.”
