Pat Healy vs Kurt Holobaugh Confirmed For Strikeforce: Marquardt vs Saffiedine

MMA Junkie reports that a fight between Kurt Holobaugh (7-0 MMA, 0-0 SF) and lightweight Pat Healy (28-16 MMA, 6-1 SF) is now official for Strikeforce: Marquardt vs Saffiedine, the final event for the promotion. The event takes place on January 12 at the Chesapeake Energy Center in Oklahoma City. Main card fights air on Showtime with preliminary card fights (including Healy vs Holobough) air on Showtime Extreme.

Holobaugh is Healy’s third opponent on the card. He recently fought in June and beat Ronnie Rogers (12-9 at the time) at a regional event for his seventh win. He has beat six of his seven opponents by submission, with four in the first round.

Healy was originally set to fight Gilbert Melendez, who dropped out due to complications of a previously injured shoulder. He was then set to face Jorge Masvidal who was also cut due to injury. Healy has had an 8-1 record in his past nine fights, including a five-fight win streak.
