At last night’s Bellator 160, former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson defeated former Bellator featherweight champion Patricio “Pitbull” Freire in a main event title eliminator bout. The fight was stopped after a kick by Freire seemed to cause a leg injury, and he was forced to forfeit the fight. With the injury, Henderson was awarded the win, and he looks to be next in line to fight champion Michael Chandler for the lightweight belt.

Freire has shared an x-ray photo of his injured leg from after the fight on his Instagram account, which you can check out below. He also wrote the following caption (translated by Google):

“Unfortunelly I injured my leg in the first round. I was still able to fight for half of the second but I felt the bone move. I was doing really well, confident and winning the fight. I’ll be back soon. – Unfortunately I injured my leg in the first round of the fight. Still I got fight of the second half, but I felt the bone move. It was very good, confident and winning the fight. I will return soon.”
