Paul Daley Pulled From Tonight’s Bellator 163

November 4, 2016 | Posted by Joseph Lee

MMA Fighting reports that Paul Daley has been pulled from tonight’s Bellator 163 and his fight with Derek Anderson was cancelled. He made weight last night, coming in at 171 pounds, but it appears the process to drop the weight is what resulted in the change.

Bellator President Scott Coker said: “After a difficult weight cut, we, along with Mike Mazzulli from the Mohegan Athletic Commission, made the decision to pull Paul Daley from tonight’s event as a precautionary measure. Fighter safety is of the utmost importance to us here at Bellator.

Neiman Gracie vs. Rudy Bears has been added to the main card in its place. This comes after a fight between Marloes Coenen and Talita Nogueira was pulled on Thursday after Nogueira missed weight by 5.6 pounds. Anderson and Coenen will be paid their show money. The show will feature a main event of Liam McGeary vs. Phil Davis for the light heavyweight title. It airs on Spike TV from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT.
