Referees & Judges Set For Top UFC 209 Fights

According to MMAJunkie, the Nevada State Athletic Commission today selected referees and judges for next month’s UFC 209 event.

Jon McCarthy will oversee the event’s main event, which features a rematch between welterweight champ Tyron Woodley (16-3-1 MMA, 6-2-1 UFC) and challenger Stephen Thompson (13-1-1 MMA, 8-1-1 UFC). Derek Cleary, Sal D’ Amato and Chris Lee will judge the fight.

Herb Dean will officiate the lightweight fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov (24-0 MMA, 8-0 UFC) and Tony Ferguson (22-3 MMA, 12-1 UFC). Junichiro Kamijo, Marcos Rosales and Jeff Mullen will judge that fight.

Mark Hunt, Rashad Evans and Daniel Kelly were approved to receive fight licenses from the state; they all needed special licenses, due to being older than 35. UFC 209 takes place on March 4th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada…
