Tito Ortiz Says Jon Jones Won’t Be Listed As Greatest Ever

In an interview with Daily Star Sport, Tito Ortiz said that due to Jon Jones’ failed drug test, his legacy has been tarnished and he’ll never be considered one of the greatest fighters. Here are highlights:

On Jones taking banned substances: “How stupid is this man? I just can’t perceive it, I don’t even understand it. Through my long career of 19 years, I’ve never put the idea of using any type PEDS or anything like that. I’ve always been against it. When I fought against Forest Griffin, he had the exemption to use testosterone. And when I found out two days before the fight, I was like, ‘what the f**k are you guys doing here man?’ And all the other guys are getting popped. They look for easy way outs. Easy way outs is not good. Jon ‘Bones’ Jones, he had an opportunity to be one of the greatest ever and he’ll never be able to do that again – ever.”

On thinking this is the end of Jones’ career: “Three times and you strike out, this is as close to baseball as you’re going to get. You don’t do the things he did and get away with it. It makes me scratch my head because Jon Jones is actually a good guy. He just makes bad decisions I guess. And he’s going to pay for those decisions, that’s the way life is – you pay for the mistakes you make.”
