According to mmajunkie.com, tonight’s Bellator 172 headliner between Fedor Emelianenko (36-4 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) and Matt Mitrione (11-5 MMA, 2-0 BMMA) has been scratched. This is due to Mitrione being ill, kidney stones were to blame for him being pulled from the card. Bellator will reschedule the fight for a later date; officials confirmed that multiple fighters volunteered to step in on short notice, including Muhammed Lawal, Tito Ortiz and Chael Sonnen, but the promotion was not able to finalize plans on such short notice.
