Tyron Woodley Explains His Focus for Johny Hendricks Fight at UFC 192

Speaking to MMAjunkie at UFC Fight Night 74, UFC welterweight fighter Tyron Woodley discussed his upcoming fight with Johny Hendricks. Below are some highlights.

Woodley on not worrying about what comes after this next fight: “I’m really excited about the fight; whatever comes after it, I’m not really thinking about that. You’ve got to get to a point in your career where you’re loving this again, you’ve got to want to fight the best guys to prove you’re the best. Whether it’s a title fight or not, Johny can arguably say he’s the best welterweight in the world. And if I beat him, I can have the same argument. That’s really my focus; it’s not about the title shot, because those are all relative. Things have to line up for you to get that.”

Woodley on why he’s focused on Hendricks: “So I’m focusing on Johny. Really easy. Tough opponent. Can knock you out, can wrestle you, can go five rounds pretty well. I think that’s enough to keep me focused.”
