UFC on FOX Sports 1.1 in Boston No Longer in Jeopardy

June 30, 2013 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

The issues that had put UFC on FOX Sports 1.1 in jeopardy have reportedly been resolved. As you may recall, the show was thrown into uncertainty earlier this month when it was revealed that a Massachusetts law preventing foreign-born fighters without U.S. Social Security numbers from competing was causing problems. However, Dana White spoke with the Boston Herald and said the show will take place on August 17th as scheduled.

“You know, when it gets down to the fact, do you want to change the card? You know, do you want to move fights around and switch fights?” White said. “When that starts happening, it’s like ‘Yeah, maybe we can’t do the fight here.’ But, you know, we figured it out. … We ended up getting everything straightened out. The fights will happen. The card will be great. It’s going to be good. There’s always something. It literally never ends. There’s always something, something that pops up or whatever. We’re pretty used to dealing with this stuff.”

The show will be the first to air on the new FOX Sports 1 network and will go down during the network’s launch weekend.
