UFC Signs Chinese Featherweight Wang Guan
MMA Junkie reports that the UFC has signed featherweight Wang Guan (15-1-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) for a multi-fight deal. Contract details weren’t revealed. He is expected to debut on June 17 at what is believed to be UFC Fight Night 111 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium (which seats 12,000) in Kallang, Singapore.
Guan said: “I will continue to keep a clean record in the UFC, showing the world my “China Power’. It’s a dream come true. My ability is approved by the UFC now. This also means the opponents I face next will be the best in the world. This will push me to train even harder.”
He made his debut in 2005 and mostly fought with the closed Ranik Ultimate Fighting Federation (RUFF) in China, where he won the featherweight title. He has had 12 stoppages in his career, including ten knockouts and two submissions via punches. His only loss was to Bekbulat Magomedov (17-1) in 2013.
