MMAjunkie reports that UFC Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Marc Ratner was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame earlier today. The ceremony took place in Canastota, New York.

Ratner previously served as the executive director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, where he oversee some of the biggest boxing fights in history, including the fight between Evander Holyfield and Mike Tyson where Tyson bit Holyfield’s ear.

Ratner began working for the NSAC in 1985 as an inspector, and then he became chief inspector in 1985. He was then named as executive director in 1992. Ratner later left his position at the NSAC in 2006 to join the UFC.

His Hall of Fame page says, “During his notable tenure he earned a reputation for integrity, knowledge, competence and accessibility. Under Ratner’s leadership the NSAC was held in the highest regard by the boxing community.”

Other inductees this year include former multi-division champions Lupe Pintor and Hilario Zapata, former judge and current HBO on-air talent Harold Lederman, and journalist Jerry Izenberg.
