Ulysses Gomez Says His #10 Flyweight Ranking Means Nothing

February 8, 2013 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

Ulysses Gomez recently spoke with MMAjunkie about his fight against Phill Harris at UFC on FUEL TV 7 and more. Check out the highlights:

On his UFC ranking as the #10 flyweight in the company: “Ultimately, the rankings don’t mean nothing, because anybody can beat anybody on any given day.”

On making fighting his full-time job with this bout: “It’s nice to know that Phil is going to fight the best Ulysses, and if he beats me, it’s because he was better. It’s not because of short notice. I thought I would be more excited, because it would be my real UFC debut, but it just feels like another fight. That’s good because it feels like there’s no expectations.”

On his aspiration to represent himself well in the fight: “I’m just going to put constant pressure on him and force him to make the mistake. I’ll let him pick his poison.”
